Bound in the publisher's original decorative cloth. Comprised of Volume I, Volume III and Volume IV of a four volume set. Lacking Volume II. This comprehensive historical work presents the war in Egypt and the Soudan from the nineteenth century, with a descriptive account of the scenes and events of this time, and sketches of the principal actors involved in the war. Written by Thomas Archer, the author of 'Fifty Years of Social and Political Progress' and 'Pictures and Royal Portraits'.Illustrated with twelve plates and map diagrams to Volume I, ten to Volume III and twelve to Volume IV. Collated, complete. With the library stamp of Cleeve School Library. Bound in the publisher's cloth. Externally, very good, with light bumping and a little rubbing to the extremities. Hinges are slightly strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd handling mark and the occasional stamp for Cleeve School Library throughout the volumes. Stamp to half title. Very Good
