About This Item
The Ecco Press, New York, 1990. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine Condition/Very Good. Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Black cloth spine and black paper over boards, publishers colophon on front cover, seventy pages. Fine condition except for black remainder mark on bottom edge of text block. In a color illustrated dust jacket with a portrait of the author on back cover, dust jacket bumped at head of spine and top corners, lightly scuffed. "Many the poems engage the perspectives of Judaism and Christianity, especially where the two traditions overlap and collide - or where each struggles to invent the other. The 'want' of the title, The Want Bone - spiritual, sexual, historical, personal - is embodied in the formal inventions that are a hallmark of Pinsky's work, now brought into challenging and memorable new territory."
