Interiors somewhat toned but otherwise intact, with firm bindings and all hinges intact. iv,465 + iv,466-737,2-191 + iv,192-652 pp., continuously paginated (sort of) -- we have no explanation for this unusual pagination. These undated copies were published sometime during the years 1899-1914 judging from the publishers' address. Hardcovers with cloth boards half bound in leather with gilt titling and accents at the spine. Four raised bands. Frontis drawing to each volume. The condition is good but with flaws. The leather spine cover of Volume I has a sizable chip missing. Volume II has a much smaller loss at the head. The leather is generally worn, rubbed and cracked. Internally, Volume II is cracked at the gutter but is holding firm. Previous owner's name written to the first blank in each volume. Both are toned. Both remain square with strong bindings.
