Internally as new. Griffin (and his wife Marion Mahony Griffin) created the original design for Canberra, Australia's capital city of Canberra, which was built after the various Australian colonies joined together in 1901 and decided to create a new inland city to serve as Australia's seat of government. Most of the Griffin's later achitectural work was done in Australia and India.
