Philadelphia: Carey, Lea and Blanchard, 1838. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair. Small octavos. 2 volumes: 204pp; 200pp., 4 pages publisher advertisements. Original publisher paper covered boards with paper title labels on cloth spine. Title labels are faded and worn with little visible lettering. Hinges are tender both volumes. Right front flyleaf volume 1 torn. Edge wear to the boards and cloth spines. Contents are moderately toned with scattered foxing. Old ink name of "Orme" on front end sheets both volumes and on title page volume 1. This book was once owned by Richard Orme, publisher of the antebellum newspaper The Georgia Recorder from Milledgeville, Georgia. Fair.
