Black and white illustrated paper covers have light bumping and creasing to edges and corners and Light overall scuffing with a bit of scuffing from price sticker removals on front covers. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. No remainder marks. [From Preface] In the year 1872, during the reign of Queen Victoria,Lewis Carroll wrote another of his children's stories, 'Alice Through The Looking Glass" as a sequel to "Alice In Wonderland/' Among the characters encountered by Alice in "Looking Glass Land" were Tweedledum and Tweedledee who told her of the Walrus and the Carpenter.As the Walrus and the Carpenter strolled along thebeach they came upon an Oyster bed close to shore.Although the eldest Oyster declined, many youngerOysters accepted the seemingly innocent invitationfrom the Walrus and the Carpenter for a "pleasant talk, a pleasant walk along the briny beach." After theWalrus, the Carpenter and the small Oysters hadtraversed about a mile of beach-front the Walrus andthe Carpenter did certain things for which they have not as yet been called to account.
