Near Fine, unnumbered, original blue cloth, blocked in gilt; text block firm, untrimmed pages unmarked; some foxing to endpapers, otherwise and excellent copy of a beautiful and unusual book.. 4to (300 x 240 / 12"" x 9_). One of 1000 copies on Art Paper, this copy un-numbered. Frontispiece, five initial letters, and cover design by Aubrey Beardsley. Beardsley designs on upper and lower covers. Beardsley had intended to provide 24 illustrations for the book, but died (at only 26) before he could complete the commission. Volpone: Or The Foxe. With A Critical Essay On The Author By Vincent O'Sullivan Together With An Eulogy Of The Artist By Robert Ross Just under full-size quarto.
