Jonathan Cape, 1967. Hardcover. Good/Good. 1967. Reprinted. 190 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over red cloth. Black and white illustrations throughout. Pages are bright and clear with mild tanning to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has similar sunning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and light scuffing overall.
Synopsis
WILLARD PRICE was born in 1887 in Peterborough, Ontario. He held a special interest for natural history, ethnology and exploration and made numerous expeditions for the American Museum of Natural History and the National Geographic Society. He went on to edit various magazines on travel and world affairs and spent six years working in Japan as foreign correspondent for New York and London newspapers. He wrote fourteen adventure stories featuring Hal and Roger Hunt and travelled in seventy-seven countries before his death in 1983.
