(xv) & 486pp. Including frontispiece there are four tinted plates, 3 b/w plates, seven engravings and two fold out maps at ear of text; (1) Leh to Yarkand - Kashghar; 2) Country north of India. Lightly rubbed edges. Slightly chipped spine ends. Free endpaper age toned. California mountaineer Vernon Howard's copy with his bookplate. Asia, India Tibet, Nepal; olor & b/w illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 486 pages .
