L Drury, London 1821. First Edition. Hardback. Fine/No Jacket. First edition London 1821 complete with all 14 Plates including Frontis all with tissue guards, three plates bound out of sequence. Later patterned boards with gilt lettered leather label and new endpapers. One page with central crease, textblock slightly toned. Collation: xii, 224pp (2) (errata & directions to binder), errata leaf with short closed tear. 8vo. A scarce account of pioneer life in the early 19th century. The lithograph plates include views of a log tavern in Indiana, Little Brandywine, Pennsylvania, the place of worship at Legionier, the ferry at Maysville on the Ohio, Frankfurt, Kentucky, and the church at Harmony, Indiana.
