About This Item
Tight, square, uncreased spine. Clean, unmarked interior. Some minor shelf-wear. Design by Jim Cook. Cover design by Francine Rudesill. Inscribed by Sanders to poet John Witte to the title page. Noel Young, a printer and designer for Black Sparrow Press who struck out on his own and founded Capra Press in 1969, adopted the following publishing philosophy: 'Approach writers you admired, acquire book rights to their shorter and offbeat works, and turn them into books.' This release, Volume I of Capra's Back-to-Back Series (two titles with their ends meeting in the middle) embodies that method as it presents two works of fictionalized biography: Sanders's account of John Audubon's childhood and Le Guin's 'autobiography of a future Californian', which is an excerpt from her novel, Always Coming Home.
