About This Item
New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, [1958]. FIRST EDITION. An interesting association copy from the library of scholar/editor Donald Yates with his owner signature at top of front flyleaf. On the same page the book has been inscribed from Yates to Antonio Helu: " For Antonio Helu, with respect and admiration for the dean of detective story writers in the magnificent country of Mexico. (Ud. me ha empresonata tanto come su pais, amigo Antonio. Cordially, Donald Yates, September 10, 1958." The book is in near fine condition but the jacket, although bright and unfaded, has tape ghosts on both front and rear flaps. Helu was a Mexican director and screenwriter
