About This Item
On heavy card with rounded corners, 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" verso blank. Handwritten caption in lower margin. Architects Frederic Cumberland and William Storm designed the Romanseque Revival-style building with inspiration from the designs of Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England. Construction began on October 4, 1856. University College first opened its doors to students three years later on October 4, 1859. This photograph is not dated, but appears to date from the early 20th century. Condition is good or better.
