About This Item
Washington D. C.: Congress of the United States, 1856. Images is 6 1/4" by 9 1/4" on a sheet that measures 9" by 11 1/4". Now archivally matted (14" by 16") and ready for framing; Original lithograph by the German-American artist Wilhelm Heine (1827-1885). It was published in 1856 to accompany the narrative of the Perry Expedition to Japan. This particular view shows American boats mapping the harbor after being expressly denied permission to do so by the Japanese government. The lithograph is in near fine condition.. First Edition. Single Sheet. Near Fine. Illus. by Wilhelm Heine. 6 1/4 Inches by 9 1/4 Inches. Fine Art Print.
