London: John Murray 1860, new edition. (Hardcover set) 506, 429, 515pp. Good to very good, no dust jacket. Decoratively stamped pebble-grained tan cloth. Coated endpapers, footnotes, index and 32 pages of Publisher's catalog at the end of vol. 3. The covers are soiled, the inner hinges are lightly worn, a book charity stamp dated 1868 on the title page of each volume, and occasional vertical marks in pencil on the margins. Time Period Middle Ages. (History, History--Europe).
