Contemporary calf binding, front covers detached, Vol I mismatched, endpapers browned, contents generally clean and GOOD. Description of the mythology, religion, philosophy, customs, and ceremonies of India, with sections on some of this history and literature of the region. The text also includes "translations from their principal works. " Archaeology, Religion, Architecture, Ancient History, Middle East, Anthropology, Holy Land, Art, Mythology, . This scarce old work was deaccessioned from Ambassador College Library archaeology department. Adt'l graphics are available. TWO VOLS PUBLISHED IN 1817 IN A 2 VOL EDITION. In 1822 there was a 3 vol edition. There may have been a single volume published in 1820 as well although I find only a single oblique reference to that.. .
