About This Item
New York: Sloane. Very Good in Good Dust Jacket. 1960. Book Club Edition. Hardcover. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 341 pages; Taupe hardcover with red squares on front. Spine is light tan with red lettering and squares. Pages are lightly aged. The spine is straight, and the binding is tight. The Dust Jacket is worn along the edges and turns with small tears on the edges. ~~ An empire totters - on its survival hung the careers of thousands of frightened employees, the savings of small stockholders. On its death rested the cold ambitions of the shrewd and ruthless moneymen, the bankers and speculators. Between the two stood John Ridgely Warren - himself touched by ruthlessness and power-lust, and yet a man of compassion and conscience. Ridge Warren had to choose whether to be the great company's rescuer - or its executioner. .
