This is the first Festival Internacional de Vídeo y Artes Electrónicas. It was inspired by the Video Biennals which started in 1990 in Mexico. It includes video works and multimedia pieces. The first video artist in Mexico is considered to be Pola Weiss who started making video art in the mid 1970's. Essays by Sally Berger, John Hanhardt, Marina Grznic, Rudolf Frieling, Ranita Chaterjee, Olu Oguibe, Hillary Blackman, Abigail Child, Armond White, and Irit Batsry.
