About This Item

Columbia, Missouri: University of Missouri Press, 2000. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. First edition. Octavo. 158pp. Minister and Civil Rights activist George Houser's copy, with his (and his wife's) ownership signature on the front fly. Fine in fine dust jacket with a tiny bit of light internal foxing. With a warm, full-page Inscription to George Houser from co-author Margaret W. Dagen on the front fly. With one of Dagen's cards laid in and a sticky note on the upper flap of the jacket giving both Houser and Dagen's addresses. Houser, who is white, was a Union Theological Seminary graduate, and co-founder of the first chapter of CORE (Chicago, 1942; he is mentioned several times in the book) and founder both of the American committee on Africa and the African fund. An excellent association.
