New York, NY: Alfred A. Knopf, (1968)., (1968).. Very good. INSCRIBED TO BOB WILSON OF THE PHOENIX BOOKSHOP & SIGNED BY EDWARD GOREY - Oblong octavo, 6-3/4 inches high by 9-1/4 inches wide. Bound in pictorial orange cloth stamped in purple with an illustration by Gorey, in a color pictorial dust wrapper titled in orange on the front panel and in black on the spine. The front folds of the dust jacket are very slightly rubbed with a couple of very tiny chips to the jacket's edges. Unpaginated, illustrated with pictorial endpapers & full-page black & white illustrations by Edward Gorey on the rectos and text by Muriel Spark on the verso. Near fine in a very good dust wrapper.

First edition, with no statement of edition. [Toledano B40a]. INSCRIBED by GOREY to BOB WILSON of the PHOENIX BOOKSHOP: 'For Bob / 24 November 1969 / Edward Gorey".

Copies of this title signed by Gorey are RARE.
