Lisbon: ASARO Principe Regente, 1770. First Edition. Hardcover (Full Leather). Very Good Condition. Later (ca. 1900) full polished calf, oblong octavo, light wear, endpapers refreshed, small water stain and tear to front blank, title page worn at edges with chipping to one corner, small dampstain in the lower margin of the first 3 or 4 pages, pencil notes to added endpaper and penciled numbers to leaves, otherwise bright and unmarked. Rare Portuguese edition of a French drawing manual first published in 1680 and reprinted again in the 19th century - only one copy of the Portuguese edition in OCLC and only a few of the French edition. 92 numbered plates on 52 leaves including the two title pages. First published as "Les vrais principes du dessein, suivis du Caractère des passions" also with 92 plates. Size: Octavo (8vo). Previous owner's book-plate on endpaper. Quantity Available: 1.
