About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1952. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Xiv, 192 pages, colour illustrations. Publisher's original dark pink cloth with blind-stamped Venus device to the bottom right-hand corner of the front board and with gilt lettering to the spine. Top edge aquamarine blue (slightly faded). A bookseller's ticket to the front paste-down otherwise a VG+ copy (no inscriptions) in a dustwrapper that is VG with a slightly darkened spine and miniscule fraying/shallow loss at the head and tail of the spine. The back panel is nice and clean. A collection of supposed aphrodisiacs. Great cover art and full-page chapter decorations by Bruce Roberts. Photographs/scans available upon request.
