About This Item
D. Appleton and Company, 1874. First American Edition . Soft cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 90pp., (vi) ads. Ex-library, bound in older and quite worn stiff card covers. Original wrappers bound in. Original pamphlet is a bit worn, with several minor dings, small chips, and tiny tears to extremities of wrappers and some pages. General light to medium soiling to volume. Nice institution bookplate to front inside cover, though it covers words. First leaf of advertisements admits to having the top approximately 1" torn away, though there is no loss of text. No writing to text and binding sound. With the presence of the original wrappers, this volume maintains some of its original late 19th century charm
