Brown cloth hardcover with blind stamped decorated borders on the covers. Gilt illustration and title on the front cover and spine. Pronounced lean to the hardcover. Cloth is split on the spine, edge and shelf worn on the covers, and chipped head and base of the spine. Ring damp stain on the back cover. Light foxing to the text. Illustrations toned. Several pencil notes on the rear end sheets. Previous owner names on the right front flyleaf. A fair reading copy. First printed in 1848.
