Description:
Westport, CT: Hyperion Press, 1976. New ed.. Paperback trade, good condition, covers lightly toned & foxed, pages lightly toned, slight loss front cover fore-edge, tiny hole last page, minimal insect damage inside rear cover & last page, crease bottom corner few pages, spine little faded, minor edgewear, owner's name label inside front cover. 288 pp. A rare science fiction novel by James Morgan Walsh, the Australian-born crime fiction author. This book was first to establish the now-classic theme of an interplanetary civilization, composed of different world governments and strange peoples, living in uneasy equilibrium, trading, intriguing, and occasionally erupting into violent struggles for power. This story has everything that makes this an exciting mystery with a combination of science fiction to give it a sense of wonder. The author was born at Geelong in 1897, emigrated to England in 1924 where he quickly established his reputation as a mystery writer. (Originally published, 1931.).
