Richard Harding Davis was an American journalist and writer of fiction and drama, known foremost as the first American war correspondent to cover the Spanish-American War, the Second Boer War, and the First World War. His writing greatly assisted the political career of Theodore Roosevelt. Later edition. Illustrated with tissue-guarded frontispiece and 3 more plates. Wine red cloth covered boards with stamped spine titles with black bordered armorial design with gilt titles inside on front. Bindings firm with a hint of a shelf lean. Light shelf wear with a spot of rub at corners and spine tips. Text clean with light even toning. 7.5 inches tall. 349 pages.
