London; Printed for S. Birt and H. Whitridge, 1754., 1754. Hard Cover. First and only edition. Octavo, pp. [8], [5]-107, [1]. 2 decorative head-pieces; 14 Tables. Contemporary full sprinkled polished calf with 5 raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to spine and double gilt fillet to boards. Edges rubbed with minor loss to head of spine and joints just starting. Armorial bookplate of Anthony Lax Maynard to front paste-down, in die-sinker style of the very early nineteenth century. A very good copy. Based upon the Bills of Mortality over the preceding twenty years in order to calculate life expectancy and annuity returns. From the legal library of Derby solicitor Anthony Lax-Maynard (1742-1825) of West House, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Scarce. Rare, not in Kress. ESTC: T177509.
