Good +. 8vo, black cloth boards with titles stamped in gilt on spine and front cover. 260pp with colour frontispiece by Felicien Rops. 7pp publisher’s catalogue dated Spring 1915 at rear. Binding cracked inside at pastedowns. Nice and clean inside. Firbank s first novel which deals with the vain Mrs Shamefoot, who decides to achieve immortality by featuring in a stained glass window and is single minded in her pursuit of her goal. A comedic array of characters congregate around her appear in this social melee of ladies, daughters and servants.
