The last Chapter gives a detailed account of her funeral. Frontis illustrated with a Colour portrait of Victoria aged 4. Many B&W Full-Page & In-Text illustrations, including many Portraits. Light Blue cloth cover with Black & Gilt Design of Armorial Bearings, Crowns etc on the front. Gilt Lettering on spine. Beveled edges. All page edges speckled Red. 396 Pages, 2.5 Kilos, 13" Tall. Slight edge wear. A little Gilt is missing from the central Crown on the front cover. No inscriptions except a tiny penciled note in bottom margin pf last page. Pages in very good, clean condition. Book weighs 2.5 Kilos so Shipping Outside UK will be extra. Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall

Includes cabinet card of Queen Victoria (Diamond Jubilee portrait) by W & D Downey loosely enclosed. Medium cracking to hinges and gutters, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Creasing to some pages. Tears to some pages, text remains unaffected. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends. Staining to both boards.

Copiously illustrated throughout, with many photographic plates and decorative bordering. Featuring two coloured frontispieces which both depict Queen Victoria at different times in her life. John George Edward Henry Douglas Sutherland Campbell, 9th Duke of Argyll, usually better known by the courtesy title Marquess of Lorne, by which he was known between 1847 and 1900, was a British nobleman and was the fourth Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883. He is now remembered primarily for the place names bestowed on Canadian geography in honour of his wife and for his metrical paraphrase of Psalm 121, "Unto the hills around do I lift up".
