A superb copy of this beautifully illustrated guide to the Arts and Crafts Movement, by Lionel Lambourne, who was Head of Paintings for the V&A Museum. The first UK edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front free end paper, dated 1981. Illustrated with 255 black-and-white photographs and illustrations. Collated, complete. An engaging study of the Arts and Crafts Movement from its origins to its influence on American art, with mentions of key figures such as John Ruskin, William Morris and Frank Lloyd Wright. This work was written by Lionel Lambourne (1933-2010), who was Head of Paintings at the Victoria and Albert Museum from 1986 to 1993. Lambourne's other publications include The Aesthetic Movement (1996) and Victorian Painting (1999). In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition. Fine
