About This Item
Boston: A. Tompkins, 1839. Otis Skinner (1807-1861) became pastor of the First Universalist Society of Boston two years prior to publishing this book; he was also instrumental in founding Tufts College (now University). This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Dark green cloth binding, decoratively stamped in the blind, with seven rules on the spine; title is gilt. Cleran text; 356 pages. Text is very bright, with only a bit of scattered foxing. Very faint penciled name on FFEP. Laid into page 41 is a small scrap of paper with what appears to be practice in penmanship - an endearing concern of the 19th century, IMHO! Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
