Hardcover (1860,c1860) with age toned tan pebbled boards and faded spine titles in good condition, well preserved inner hinges and clean end papers without mark, 504 pages with 22 pages of book advertisements by publisher, title page shows shading from frontispiece, near fine 2" X 3" book trade label inside front board reads "E.D. Van Slyck Professional and Miscellaneous Library, Cortlandville, NY" with handwritten book number and price (note: Edward Delavan VanSlyck was editor of Hamilton Republican serving as 1st LT company D 76th NYS Volunteers in the Civil War. Fought in 7 battles and was wounded 3 times)
