Reviews
On May 3 2020, a reader said:
The title for this book is erroneous, in that these stories had to be "discovered". They have always been out there and some of them had appeared in other anthologies over the years. With perhaps the exception of "The Fisherman" which Zane Grey gave to the editors of Outdoor America to be published free of charge, these stories are known elsewhere. But I must say, the printing of this short novel is an eye opener, if you do not already know something about Zane Grey. The story is indeed autobiogaphical in nature, as it tells of how Zane Grey came to love fishing, and about some other extra activities he was involved with as he grew to manhood, so much so this novella seems to end rather abruptly---I'll leave it up to you to read for yourself to see what I am talking about. Overall this is a buyable book; it does include biographical information many people will not know about Zane Grey, and not all the stories are fishing related. This is a good representation of him in his early life, and a book any devotee of Zane Grey should have in their library.
