About This Item
.First edition published in New York and London. and translated by W. L. Courtney.
The cover is in good condition. The quite beautiful gilded fish/spirit design and printing on the front cover stands our clearly; as do the designs and print along the pine. However, the covers have shelf wear along the edges and corners, most pronounced at the bottom and top of the spine. The top of the spine has a piece of the cover (about 1/4") missing. Otherwise, the book is in excellent condition, the pages are without tears or blemishes. Rackham's drawings and designs grace the opening pages and the beginning of each chapter. There are 14 half-toned paste-on engravings, each covered with glassine paper. No dj.
This is the story of Undine, a water spirit, marries a knight. It is an early German fairy tale.
Priority mail shipping will be provided at no additional cost for domestic sales. Sales outside of the United states are subject to special postal rates, to be determined.
