A tight text block, clean copy, with faint damp stain to several margins (does not detract)., Very minor margin edge red 'bleed' to tip top edges of a few pages. Does not detract. Three small brown stains (approx 1' in all) on front board. Complete paper title label intact on spine. Was originally issued in 1872 as a pamphlet in reply to Robert Buchanan's "Fleshly Controversy/"Fleshly School of Poetry'.
