Tartarus Press: Horam, East Sussex, 1999. First edition (& 1st printing). Hardcover. Classic supernatural collection first published in 1911, this first Tartarus Press printing has a thirteen page introduction by Richard Dalby. Additional stories not in the original 1911 edition are the author's own ''lost'' story, ''The King's Messenger'', and also three supernatural stories by his two sisters. LIMITED EDITION: 250 numbered copies. This is no 146. Issued in two different dustjackets (no priority), the usual cream dustjacket and a pale blue dustjacket. This copy has both. Light bruise to bottom front corner tip, (very) faint spotting along top page edges,else a fine copy in a fine (mint) cream dustjacket and an almost fine pale blue dustjacket.
