Weidenfeld & Nicolson,, [1974]. 8vo., Second Impression; rose cloth, gilt back, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper. Published in the same month as the first edition. This relatively unassuming title is the first public disclosure of the Ultra operation, now recognised as a major contribution to Allied victory in WWII. The author was chief of the air department of SIS and as such responsible for Ultra's organization, distribution and security. ALL EARLY PRINTINGS OF THE W&N EDITION ARE SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THE DUSTGWRAPPER. Enser, p.222.
