Two lectures by an influential British typographer and historian of printing Stanley Morison (1889-1967): "The Typographic Arts" (1944) and "The Art of Printing" (1937). "Both discuss the written and printed book, the theory that should, in my submission, be the basis of their form, calligraphic or typographic; and the principles, respectively, upon which it should be designed."
