About This Item
Hardcover cloth, navy blue with gilt, no jacket as issued. An account of life on the Illinois prairies in the early nineteenth century. The author was an English farmer of some substance who was attracted to the opportunities for himself and his family in the United States, especially in the Midwest. The family traveled down the Ohio River then upland into Illinois territory to settle on the frontier.
