About This Item

Portland, ME: Loring Short and Harmon, Publisher, 1902. Hard Cover. Good. Blue paper covered boards with cream cloth spine. Unpaginated, roughly 25 pp. Black and white illustrations by Charles Copeland throughout. A collection of two longish historical poems by James Phinney Baxter, perhaps reflecting on life in Portland, Maine, although the town goes unmentioned. Baxter was a mayor of Portland, Maine, as well as an historical scholar. GOOD condition. Uneven moderate toning to the covers. Some soiling. Paper worn at the corner of the covers. Interior binding weak but intact. Owner's stamp on the first endpaper.
