Canton: Kheshing Studio, 1860. Silk covered boards. Otherwise very good condition. With the Kheshing stamp in the front stating that they we26592re dealers in silks and other sundry articles. We can locate only one other listing for a pith painting album from Kheshing at the Sydney Living Museum. The processionals include children, men playing instruments, carrying temples that honor ducks & dieties, men carrying banners and swords.

A large oblong 4to album (14 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches) Bound in patterned red silk, with rubbing to the spine and corners. Internally there is little cracking but the color of the costumes is outstanding with much cobalt blue & heavily patterned. Leaves mounted with pale turquoise silk ribbon to paper leaves.
