The poem Turtle in July, which lent its title to the book, reads: "Heavy/ Heavy hot/ Heavy hot hangs/ Thick sticky/ Icky/ But I lie/ Nose high/ Cool pool/ No fool/ A turtle in July." So, April is a dog' dream. For May myrtle warblers sing "Me me me ...You are my choice my choice my choice/ Come, let's nest nest nest"; and flying south in October, the Canadian geese cries "Did I tell you? I should tell you/ Going home, We're going home/ Are you coming? Yes, you're coming/ Going home, We're going home.." Fine copy of a book of delights for ear and eye.
