Boggle, Lucien Davies, H. J. Ford, C. H. M. Kerr and Lancelot Speed. Black and white frontis with tissue guard. Illustrated title page, plus many more. The true stories include that of Grace Darling who helped her lighthouse keeper father rescue shipwreck survivors, the Venetian Casanova de Seingalt's (Giacomo Casanova) escape from the inquisition, the stories of Bonnie Prince Charlie, Kaspar Hauser, Montezuma, Thermopylae, and The Tale of Isandhlwana and Rorke's Drift is by Rider Haggard, etc. 4th impression. Blue cloth is very clean and the gilt decoration are bright. Somewhat rubbed to corners and spine ends. Faint toning and foxing to margins of text and some plates., Partial removed prize plate to front endpaper. Binding is sound. Good+, sound copy . Hardback. 1900.
