Carolyn Jessop was born into the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a group splintered from and renounced by the Mormon Church, and was married for seventeen years to one of its highest-ranking leaders. Laura Palmer is the author of Shrapnel in the Heart and has collaborated on six other books, the most recent being the New York Times bestseller Escape . She lives in New York City.
