About This Item
London: Michael Joseph, 1952. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine. 7.5" by 5.5". None. A fantastically preserved first edition of Paul Gallico's crime novel, in an unclipped dust wrapper. This work follows the tale of Jimmy Race, an American reporter based in Paris, as he tries to get to the bottom of a crime which appears to have been falsely confessed to in a Hungarian court.Paul Gallico (1897-1976) was an American author and short story writer, whose most popular works include 'The Snow Goose', 'The Poseidon Adventure' and 'Manxmouse'. This is a first edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding in an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper has some slight chipping to the head and tail of the spine but is otherwise in excellent condition. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Fine
