About This Item

Penguin, Camberwell, 2008. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good. Illustrator: Simon Griffiths – Photographer. About the chefs, index and acknowledgements. Colour photographic end pages, both different, with the text illustrated with colour photography taken by Simon Griffiths. Olive green coloured cloth covered boards with white coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper, again taken by Simon Griffiths, with black and gilt coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. With recipes by favourite chefs including Stephanie Alexander, Maggie Beer, Stefano Manfredi & Tobie Puttock) the author takes us on a journey through the olive groves of Australia arguing for local over imported oil. She teaches us how to identify good oil and recognise the evils of rancidity. The book is beautifully photographed by Simon Griffiths. Looking at all of the recipes, am struck by the sheer simplicity of most of the recipes. Use of herbs and fresh vegetables to complement the olive oil seems to be the same regardless of which of the chefs are dictating the recipe. Minor rubbing of the book corners and softening of the back strip edges. A small split to the lower back strip edge. Very light age toning of the text block edges. Some rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels. Full number line. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. 228 pages. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Simon Griffiths – Photographer. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1-2 kilos. Category: Cooking, Wine & Dining; National & International Cookery; ISBN: 1920989668. ISBN/EAN: 9781920989668.
