London: Charles Knight, 1839. 1st. Hardcover. Very good. John Jackson.. Bound in dark green half leather and marbled boards with four raised bands on the spine, stamped and decorated in gilt. Rules stamped in gilt on the covers. Top edge gilt. Rubbing to the edges and extremities. Marbled endpapers. Front hinge has started but is holding. Silk placement ribbon bound in at the head. With upwards of 300 illustrations throughout from wood engravings by John Jackson.
