About This Item
Ayr: Wilson & Paul, 1811. Hardcover. Poor. Hardback. A poor copy externally in the original boards which have lost much of their paper covering. A fairly sizeable stain affects the first few pages and part of the front end-paper is missing but otherwise this copy is sound internally. There is a gift inscription from the author on the half-title. Pp.xxxix,357 + errata slip at end. This treatise on the nature and reclamation of moorland was published "at the desire and under the patronage of the Highland Society" and is much enlarged and improved from the first edition of 1805. A reading or rebinding copy.
