The first edition thus, first impression of this short story collection.In the excellent price unclipped publisher's original dust wrapper.Published the year after Sayers' death, this volume consists of twenty-four short stories, including sixteen Lord Peter Wimsey tales, and six Montague Egg stories.Sayers was a prolific author of crime fiction during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, and one of the 'Queens of Crime', alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh.With the inscription R. S. G. to the head of the front free endpaper. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, fine. Inscription to head of front free endpaper. Spotting to fore edge of text block. Light discolouration to dust wrapper back strip, with minor edge wear to back strip head and tail of front wrap. Internally, firmly bound.
