London: George Allen & Unwin, Ltd,.. Near Fine in Good dust jacket. 1953. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. In FINE pale blue boards with very bright silver-gilt titling to the spine. In the original publisher's GOOD ONLY pictorial dust-jacket. The d/j is quite grubby with some marks to the rear mainly, the spine of the d/j is faded /marked but all titling is clear. The d/j is price-clipped and has a few closed tears, all of which are now neatly repaired to the reverse of the d/j with clear archive tape, but is otherwise a complete d/j. The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks much better. (See Images) . The book itself is near Fine, some very pale offsetting to the endpapers but o/w the book is FINE with NO Inscriptions or Marks. (x) + (2) + 232 pp. A full page b/w frontispiece together with 8 other full page b/w plates and over 40 other b/w head/tail vignette illustrations, etc. All delightfully illustrated by PAULINE BAYNES. Translated from the French by Mary Mian . Selected and Translated from 'Le Tresor des Contes'. A Lovely book. See Images. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
